#WhytheY Part 4: Aloe Vera
Welcome Back to Why The Y! This time our topic of discussion is Aloe Vera :)
The days are getting shorter and the months colder, but before you banish Aloe from your skincare til summer, let’s talk about some of its other uses!
Aloe has many current uses in dermatology besides after-sun care. It contains a ton of vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and fatty acids (1) that make it an effective topical solution for many common skin needs, like dry skin and surface acne (1).
Two of the most commonly overlooked benefits of Aloe Vera are its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing abilities. The plant produces “mucopolysaccharides which help in binding moisture into the skin (2).”
Aloe also “stimulates fibroblast which produces the collagen and elastin fibers making the skin more elastic and less wrinkled (2).” The amino acids in the plant “also soften hardened skin cells (2).”
That’s a whole lotta soothing and hydration for just one little plant!
Our aloe conditioning gel is formulated with 85% pure Aloe Vera to maximize soothing and hydrating benefits your skin. Try using it to calm and rehydrate irritated skin after shaving or waxing.
Of course, this wouldn’t be #WhytheY if we didn't tell you our gel is safe to use on your bikini area!
